Maybelline Superstay Multi-Use Foundation Stick

Maybelline Superstay Multi-Use Foundation Stick

Let’s start off by saying my skin type is normal/dry and this foundation left my skin looking airbrushed. The color match was perfect and the coverage was medium. I feel like the sponge that’s on other side is useless. I used a brush to blend it in and went over it with a damp beauty sponge, which blended nicely. My powder bronzer and highlight blended well and my makeup lasted all night.

Review: Cantu Natural Hair Curling Cream

Review: Cantu Natural Hair Curling Cream

For starters, my hair isn’t exactly filled with curls. It’s always been more of a crazy wave but frizzy if air dried. Since I’ve been trying not to heat process my hair as much as I used to, and because I’ve become a bit lazy, I’ve noticed my hair has been a bit more healthier with some newly added curls.

A Walmart trip down the travel size products caused me to find a mini container of this cream. So I went home and used it a few different ways to see how my hair did with it .

  • 1st try: I saturated damp hair with this product and let it air dry
  • 2nd try: Pretty much like the first try except I used a diffuser on low heat and I think I preferred this method instead.

My thoughts:

I love how it keeps my hair soft and natural looking and the feeling of being conditioned. The container it comes in is a pretty good size. You can get 12 ounces for no more than $6.00. It claims to define curls and moisturize dry hair.

Random Rant: Store Policies

Random Rant: Store Policies

Hey!

Today I’m writing about an issue I had yesterday regarding a purchase of laptop.

About a week and half ago I purchased a brand new laptop from a known store. Keep in mind this laptop is an HP so I know this is a well known computer brand. Anyways … I purchased this laptop for a few different reasons but that’s besides the point. I understand this particular store has a policy of a 15% restocking fee if I choose to return or exchange within 14 days, which I think is stupid but whatevs. On the 10th day of having purchased this item I went to turn it on and all the screen did was flicker and stayed blank. I would have to hold the power button down for it to turn completely off then turn it back on and still…nada. So I called the store and was told to come in and talk to a manager who was on duty, which I did. I walked in with my laptop in its original box and asked for the manager. I went ahead and told him my issue and he explained to me that it would need to be taken in for service. Now, in my opinion, I shouldn’t have to service a BRAND NEW product regardless of what it is. I explained to him that if I was already having issues with it that I didn’t want it and that I would like to return or exchange it for another one of the same kind. Manager said “We can’t take back items that don’t work” – I’m sorry, what!! I told him I had 14 days to return and clearly the item is defective. I was told I had to pay $180.00 to return it. I can understand if I just wanted a totally different product because I didn’t like this one. My thing is, so I have to pay the store to take back a defective item that is brand new and shouldn’t have any kind of issues at this point?! I really didn’t understand this at this point. Needless to say, that laptop is what I’m using to write this post and my point is…I don’t plan to purchase another item from there again.

Do you have a similar story or am I the only one?

Update and Full Review: L’Oréal Infallible Fresh Wear

Update and Full Review: L’Oréal Infallible Fresh Wear

So i’m back with my full review and final thoughts about this product. If you want to read about my first impressions, please click here.

For reference, I have pretty normal to dry skin. My forehead is the only place that I get a slight “natural glow”as the day goes by.

Day 2 of wearing this foundation:

L’Oreal Paris 24H Infallible Stay Fresh Foundation 30ml – 140 Golden Beige

 Application:

I applied same moisturizer as in my First Impression. This time I used primer and applied per usual, with a a beauty sponge. I did end up using a different concealer with this which is actually the concealer I wear the most. The application was way smoother this time and I think I can contribute this to the primer.

I did end up using a different concealer with this application which is actually the concealer I wear the most.

After letting this set for a few minutes,  I did notice it dried down to a nice matte finish. This wasn’t a super dry, suck the life out of you matte but more like a comfortable matte. Even on my dry skin the finish looked nice. Same as the day before, my powder bronzer and highlight and had no issues blending.

The wear throughout the day seemed to look nicer as the day went on. I don’t have large pores but this foundation looked like it smoothed over the little bit of ones I do have. My forehead did look nice by the end of the day and not like an oily mess.  It actually looked like it made for a very nice glow. I also wore my glasses this day and even on the nose there didn’t seem to be too much transfer or cakiness.

Final thoughts:

The foundation does come in a nice sleek glass bottle with a nice black pump. It retails for about $14.99 which I think is a bit pricey for a drugstore foundation. I did find my perfect shade, 460 – Golden Beige, at CVS. The shade range does seem different than the previous Infallible foundations since I am usually “Natural Beige” in all of them. Just be sure to keep that in mind when purchasing this. Unfortunately I cannot test the claim of this being able to be worn for up to 24 hours but I can tell you it did good for the 12 hours I was able to wear it. I will continue to wear this foundation, but I can’t say that this my favorite as of yet. I do believe this comes in about 30 shades. This does come with 0.17 fl ounces compared to usual foundations you get 1 full fluid ounce and I do use about 1.5 to 2 pumps so depending on you this may or may not be worth the buy.

First Impression: L’Oréal Infallible Fresh Wear

First Impression: L’Oréal Infallible Fresh Wear

This is my DAY 1 first impression and I will make sure to keep you guys updated after wearing this foundation a few more times with different variations.

For reference, I have pretty normal to dry skin. My forehead is the only place that I get a slight “natural glow”as the day goes by.

Day 1:

To start, I applied my usual moisturizer and decided to try this without any primer. I then applied this with a damp beauty sponge, which from the beginning I can say I did not like the way this looked at all. I feel like my skin looked dry and cakey just from the application. I didn’t feel like it was applying smoothly on my skin and you could see the sponge marks on my face. Keep in mind, this is a sponge I use everyday for my foundation and concealer application.

As a few minutes went by I did notice this was settling into my laugh lines and I just thought this looked horrible. I also noticed this dried down and set pretty quickly and I didn’t feel any tackiness after application.

The concealer I used for DAY 1 look didn’t seem to blend well either but noticed the bronzer went on smoothly.

To be honest, I was having a bad day at work and didn’t seem to pay too much mind to the foundation as the day went by and did not take any pictures.

I will update this post with my full review so stay tuned!
